Mélissa Cornet

Mélissa Cornet is a Kabul-based researcher with human rights research field experience in Africa (Burkina Faso, Niger, Tanzania) and in Afghanistan, where she has been based since January 2018. Melissa is a lawyer with degrees in Human Rights from Paris II Pantheon-Assas (Paris, France) and Fordham School of Law (NYC, USA). Melissa has been working on the topic of gender at the Afghanistan Research and Evaluation Unit, including research on violence against women for UN-Women, on women’s economic empowerment for the World Bank, on women’s political participation for N-Women, and on the impact of Covid-19 on youth and women for FCDO.
